Type 1 diabetes is a serious, lifelong autoimmune condition that primarily affects children and young adults and requires uninterrupted access to insulin, regular glucose monitoring, and continuous medical support. In Pakistan, although Type 1 diabetes represents less than 2% of the total diabetic population, it affects an estimated 26,000 individuals, with an incidence rate of 1.02 per 100,000 per year.
Despite its relatively low prevalence, the burden of Type 1 diabetes is high due to limited access to specialized care, high treatment costs, and gaps in patient and family education. Without consistent treatment, interruptions in insulin therapy can quickly become life-threatening.
This program ensures uninterrupted access to insulin and essential diabetes supplies for people living with Type 1 diabetes and patients under 25 years of age.
This fund supports community-driven care by providing flexible financial assistance, education, and emergency support for vulnerable Type 1 diabetes patients.
Your continued trust ensures that no child or young adult is denied life-saving Type 1 diabetes care due to financial hardship.
